Directions For Use:

  1. Mounting: Securely mount the Gas Economizer to a stable surface (workbench or wall) using appropriate fasteners through the pre-drilled holes in the base.
  2. Gas Supply Connection: Connect the oxygen hose from your Oxygen regulator to the economizer’s Oxygen inlet (3/8″ BSP Right-Hand Thread). Connect the acetylene hose from your Acetylene regulator to the economizer’s Acetylene inlet (3/8″ BSP Left-Hand Thread). Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.
  3. Torch Hose Connection: Connect your torch’s oxygen hose to the economizer’s Oxygen outlet and the acetylene hose to the Acetylene outlet.
  4. Initial Gas Flow & Pilot Flame: Open your main oxygen and acetylene cylinder valves and adjust your regulators to the desired working pressures. Briefly push down the hooked arm of the economizer to allow gas flow to the torch. Light the torch to establish a stable pilot flame, then release the hooked arm. A small, steady pilot flame will remain at the economizer’s nozzle.
  5. Operation (Welding/Cutting): When you’re ready to weld or cut, simply push down the hooked arm. Gas will flow to your torch, allowing you to ignite and begin your work.
  6. Economizing (Idle): When you temporarily stop working, release the hooked arm. The main gas flow to your torch will automatically shut off, leaving only the small, efficient pilot flame burning at the economizer. This saves gas and eliminates the need to manually adjust torch valves.
  7. Shutdown: When you are finished with all work, close the main valves on your Oxygen and Acetylene cylinders. Bleed the lines by briefly opening the economizer arm until the pressure gauges read zero. Finally, extinguish the pilot flame on the economizer.

Benefits:

  • Drastically Reduce Gas Costs: Save up to 50% or more on your Oxygen and Acetylene consumption by eliminating gas wastage during idle periods. A rapid return on investment is guaranteed!
  • 🇬🇧 Premium UK Quality: Manufactured in the United Kingdom, ensuring superior craftsmanship, durability, and reliable performance that meets stringent international standards.

FAQs

Q1: What is an Oxy-Acetylene Gas Economizer and how does it benefit me?
A1: An Oxy-Acetylene Gas Economizer is a device that significantly reduces gas consumption by automatically shutting off the main gas flow to your torch when you're not actively welding or cutting. It keeps a small pilot flame lit, allowing for instant re-ignition via a simple hooked arm mechanism. This saves you valuable gas (up to 50%!) and eliminates the time-consuming process of readjusting torch valves.
Q2: Is this Gas Economizer manufactured in the UK?
A2: Yes, this Oxy-Acetylene Gas Economizer is proudly made in the UK, ensuring high standards of manufacturing quality, precision, and durability.
Q3: How much gas can I expect to save using this economizer?
A3: You can expect substantial savings, often up to 50% or more, on your Oxygen and Acetylene gas. The exact savings depend on how frequently you start and stop your welding or cutting operations throughout the day. Over time, these savings translate to significant cost reductions for your business or workshop.
Q4: Is this economizer compatible with my existing Oxy-Acetylene setup?
A4: Yes, this Gas Economizer is designed for universal compatibility with standard Oxy-Acetylene welding and cutting torches. It features standard 3/8" BSP right-hand threads for Oxygen and left-hand threads for Acetylene, which are common connections.
Q5: How does the "hooked arm" feature work for re-ignition?
A5: The hooked arm feature is designed for convenience. When you're ready to resume welding or cutting, simply depress the hooked arm. This instantly restores the main gas flow to your torch, allowing you to begin working without needing to relight your torch manually. When you release the arm, the gas flow automatically stops.
Q6: Is it difficult to install the Gas Economizer?
A6: Installation is straightforward. The economizer has pre-drilled holes in its base for secure mounting to a workbench or wall. You'll then connect your gas supply lines from your regulators to the economizer's inlets and your torch hoses to its outlets. Clear instructions are provided in the "Directions For Use" section.
Q7: Does using a Gas Economizer improve safety in my workshop?
A7: Absolutely. By automatically shutting off the main gas flow when the torch is idle, it significantly reduces the risk of unattended open flames. It also minimizes the need for repeated manual torch ignitions, contributing to a safer working environment.
Q8: Can this economizer be used with other fuel gases like Propane or MAPP gas?
A8: No, this specific model is engineered and optimized strictly for Oxygen and Acetylene gases. Using it with other fuel gases is not recommended and may compromise performance and safety.
